Youth Baseball in Manchester2004 Season News and ResultsManchester Open Tournament:The Manchester Open tournament was held on the 15th May. This year the tournament was held for the bronco teams only, as there were not enough pony teams. We had teams from Scotland as well Runcorn, Halton and our Manchester team. The Manchester Broncos won this tournament for the third year running! Well done. Frank Caunce Tournament:This year the Frank Caunce Tournament was on the 19th June and hosted by Halton. Manchester Baseball club won all three age groups, well done to all our players, we were the only club with a team in each age group. The Pony team beat Halton in both games of their double header. The Broncos beat Halton, Runcorn and Cartmel to win their section. The Rookies beat Runcorn and Cartmel to win their trophy. Pony Team:5 matches played and 5 matches won!! Well Done. Results as follows: Bronco Team:6 matches played and 5 won!! Well done. Results as follows: Rookie Team:The Rookies have played in 2 tournaments and a great deal of fun was had by all, the next tournament for the Rookies is away at Runcorn on the 3rd July. Players representing Great Britain:Sam Underwood - GB Juveniles - European Kenko Tournament - Italy The following players were selected, but for personal reasons unable to go:Dane Carney - GB Juveniles - European Kenko Tournament - Italy Congratulations to Sam Underwood and Tom Conneely who will be travelling to Japan as part of 5, GB U11 players to attend a World Baseball festival.
