Senior Matches: The NNL winners the Eagles (20:2) and the North AA winners the A's (14:8) both made the Final 4 and played their final matches at Croydon on Saturday 6th September, with the A's playing Sidewinders and the Eagles playing Richmond Flames. Both were knockout matches with the finals taking place on Sunday 7th. From the North Menwith (12:8) also qualified for the NL final 4 and Humber (13:9) for the AAA final 4. All 4 of the Northern teams lost their first match which proved to be their only matches as the weather reduced the final 4 to the bare minimum of games. From the North the Eagles were the most competetive losing 8-3 to Richmond. 28/09/08

Senior Results: League On the 24th August the A's (14:8) split an away DH to Midlands AA Maple Leafs 6-9 and 7-6, securing the A's the AA North title and a spot in the 2008 Final 4 championship. The NNL winners the Eagles (20:0) swept Final 4 bound AAA Humber 17-3 and 9-3.

Cup The 10th August was the third round of the Northern Cup, the Eagles (3:0) received another forfiet from Liverpool (1:2) while the A's (3:0) hosted and beat Sheffield (1:2) 12-11 (9 innings). Both Manchester teams and Birmingham (3:0) are still undefeated in this competition 04/09/08

Can I remind you all that if you wish to be rostered to play in the matches for the coming season you need to complete a registration form. The fixtures have now been added to the junior area (link on left). If you are new to baseball and want to come along and have a go you are most welcome, bring strong trainers or football boots, you can use our gloves, bats and helmets to see how you get on. In memory of Harold Booth: Long time Manchester baseball founder member Harold Booth passed away on Christmas day 2007. Harold one of the founder members of the Manchester Saints and Aces senior baseball teams in the early 1950's, was still umpiring for MBC into his 80's and leaves behind many friends at MBC. Current MBC'er Chris Woodall did a reading at Harold's funeral on the 8th Jan 2008. You can read this on the BSUK website. 10/01/08

Senior Rostering: To be included in the MBC rosters on the BSUK site for the 2008 season (and therefore to be eligible to play for the teams) you must either reactivate your account on BSUK - for people who registered last year using your old username and password. If you have forgotten it you can get a reminder here. Or register (for new members), you can do that here - remember to apply to join MBC too (found after registering and logging in - left hand menu option). We can then roster you (once your fees / subs are paid) to one of the MBC teams. If you are still confused, BSUK have more details on (re)registering here. 05/02/08

BBF League Rules: Recent events (including forfeits, rain-outs and questions over use of DH) have highlighted the need for managers and players to have read the league bye-laws and handbook. It is advisable for all teams to have a copy of each at the game. Do not expect the umpire to know these league rules, their job is to apply the laws of baseball during the game, not league rules that mostly apply before the game starts. The bye-laws (2003) and handbook (2007) are available from the BSUK downloads section. 03/07/07

Match Day: As well as helping set up (and taking down) the field, can all team members remember to clear their rubbish away after matches, its our responsiblity to clean up the field (both dugouts), and each team should take bin liners to matches for rubbish collection. 04/06/07
