Senior Matches: The A's (9:3) won their last home DH against Halton (6:9) 8-7 and 7-3 (both 7 innings) to go third in the North, so far only losing games to the top two teams (losing a DH to Harrogate and splitting a DH with Liverpoool).
The Torrent (2:10) have recorded their first win against Humber (which was taken away due to an earlier forfeit) and followed this up with a DH sweep of Oldham, and in their last match they pushed Sheffield very close losing 3-5.
The A's next match is a home DH against fifth paced Menwith Hill (6:6) on 21st June, while the Torrent travel to last placed Oldham (0:14) looking for 2 more wins. After that on the 28th June is the Manchester Derby with a DH, the Torrent are the home team. Following this game will be 2008's award ceremony.
All games are DHs and start at noon. Contact your team manager ASAP with your availability, and remember you can't play until you've been rostered on the league website (details under senior rostering below).
See the MBC ground weather forecast here. See MBC match day pictures in the gallery UPDATED. 18/06/09

Senior Update: The senior season has now started, so training is now at the ground on Thursday evenings, from 6pm (or when you can get there). Note: all equipment is provided except a glove, which can be borrowed if anyone wants to try the game first, if you do want to buy anything first speak to Margy about getting it through the club. If you have any queries about this or anything else ask in the forum or email the club senior contact. 23/04/09

MBC AGM 2009: The AGM will take place after the BBF AGM (7th March), think now about what you can do for your club, most positions are up for election. Ask Ian for a copy of last year's minutes or talk to any of the retiring executive committee for information of the meeting. 31/01/09

Senior Rostering: To be included in the MBC rosters on the BSUK site for the 2009 season (and therefore to be eligible to play for the teams) you must either reactivate your account on BSUK - for people who registered last year using your old username and password. If you have forgotten it you can get a reminder here. Or register (for new members), you can do that here - remember to apply to join MBC too (found after registering and logging in - left hand menu option). We can then roster you (once your fees / subs are paid) to one of the MBC teams. If you are still confused, BSUK have more details on (re)registering here. 23/04/08

Junior Update: Bronco and Rookie training for 2009 will take place on Wednesday evenings 6.30pm at the ground Allen Field (see maps) from April. Can I remind you all that if you wish to be rostered to play in the matches for the coming season you need to complete a registration form. The fixtures have now been added to the junior area (link on left). If you are new to baseball and want to come along and have a go you are most welcome, bring strong trainers or football boots, you can use our gloves, bats and helmets to see how you get on. If you have any queries about this or anything else email the club junior contact. 09/05/08

BBF League Rules: Recent events (including forfeits, rain-outs and questions over use of DH) have highlighted the need for managers and players to have read the league bye-laws and handbook. It is advisable for all teams to have a copy of each at the game. Do not expect the umpire to know these league rules, their job is to apply the laws of baseball during the game, not league rules that mostly apply before the game starts. The bye-laws (2003) and handbook (2008) are available from the BSUK downloads section. 23/04/09

Match Day: As well as helping set up (and taking down) the field, can all team members remember to clear their rubbish away after matches, its our responsiblity to clean up the field (both dugouts), and each team should take bin liners to matches for rubbish collection. 04/06/07
