We have teams to suit all ages and all skill levels, and the club is always looking for more new players in all age groups; 7-10, 10-13, 13-16 and for our adult teams (16 and over). If you are interested in joining MBC (in any capacity - no previous experience necessary) sign up here, or see the contact details at the bottom of this page.

Senior Matches: All games are DHs and start at noon. Contact your team manager ASAP with your availability, and remember you can't play until you've been rostered on the league website (details under senior rostering below).
See the MBC ground weather forecast here. See MBC match day pictures in the gallery UPDATED. 18/06/09

Senior Update:

Training is now at the ground Allen Field (see maps) on Thursdays from 6.00pm. Training is also on Sundays (at least for 4th and 11th April) from 1.00pm. After that, it will depend on when the season starts; we are currently awaiting confirmation of the fixtures.

These outdoor sessions on grass are, as ever, subject to weather conditions. We cannot afford to ruin the diamond before the season even starts! However, training is always on unless management specifically call it off. Even if the weather is terrible, we will be having a tactics/classroom session in the Four in Hand pub in Didsbury.

ALL!!! players expecting to play the 2010 season are expected to attend these training sessions. Obviously this is a leisure pursuit done in our own time so we do not expect everyone will be able to make every session regardless. If you cannot make ANY of these sessions then please do contact your team manager/assistant in the week leading up to, or the previous Sunday to make them aware you cannot make it. This allows our coaches to plan a session knowing roughly how many people will be practising.

Manchester A`s: Chris Jackson or Ian Marginson

Manchester Torrent: Ian Marchment

New or prospective members can turn up to any training session to see what it's all about. Note: all equipment is provided except a glove, which can be borrowed if anyone wants to try the game first, if you do want to buy anything first speak to Margy about getting it through the club. If you have any queries about this or anything else ask in the forum or email the club senior contact. 02/04/10

Senior Rostering: To be included in the MBC rosters on the BSUK site for the 2010 season (and therefore to be eligible to play for the teams) you must either reactivate your account on BSUK - for people who registered last year using your old username and password. If you have forgotten it you can get a reminder here. Or register (for new members), you can do that here - remember to apply to join MBC too (found after registering and logging in - left hand menu option). We can then roster you (once your fees / subs are paid) to one of the MBC teams. If you are still confused, BSUK have more details on (re)registering here. 21/03/10

Junior Update: Pony, Bronco and Rookie training for 2010 will take place on Wednesday evenings 6.30pm at the ground Allen Field (see maps) from 31st March. Can I remind you all that if you wish to be rostered to play in the matches for the coming season you need to complete a registration form. If you are new to baseball and want to come along and have a go you are most welcome, bring strong trainers or football boots, you can use our gloves, bats and helmets to see how you get on. If you have any queries about this or anything else email the club junior contact. 02/04/10

BBF League Rules: Recent events (including forfeits, rain-outs and questions over use of DH) have highlighted the need for managers and players to have read the league bye-laws and handbook. It is advisable for all teams to have a copy of each at the game. Do not expect the umpire to know these league rules, their job is to apply the laws of baseball during the game, not league rules that mostly apply before the game starts. The bye-laws (2003) and handbook (2008) are available from the BSUK downloads section. 23/04/09

Match Day: As well as helping set up (and taking down) the field, can all team members remember to clear their rubbish away after matches, its our responsiblity to clean up the field (both dugouts), and each team should take bin liners to matches for rubbish collection. 04/06/07
